Changes for Season 2

The epic.LAN CS:GO Championship, in association with Grosvenor Casinos is back for a second season, once again touring venues around the UK to find the best CS:GO teams!

The first season was an ambitious project for epic.LAN and Grosvenor Casinos, creating an affordable one-day LAN with PCs provided at a range of locations to get more people playing CS:GO at events. For many people, the first season was the first LAN attended by some teams.

For season 2, we've made a number of key changes based on feedback from players, including:

  • Grand finals now split over two days at a weekend to reduce the number of matches and improve the competitive quality of the finals. Hotel rooms will be booked for all teams qualifying for the finals (team + coach or manager) with activities on the Saturday night for all teams that have qualified.
  • Online qualifiers & wildcard announced from the start, so all teams know that their entry fee will give them potentially 4 chances to qualify. Online qualifiers will remain restricted to teams that have taken part in a LAN qualifier.
  • Slight reduction in qualifier prize money to allow for a small prize fund for online qualifier teams (to help their transport funding to get to the finals), total prize pool for the series will still be £10,000.
  • Majority of events to take place on Saturdays to account for late finishes where people may be working the following day
  • Nottingham & Cardiff added as qualifier venues, replacing Glasgow and Coventry (Coventry will still be the venue for the finals)
  • More activities for people during qualifiers for those waiting for games or knocked out early.
  • Free finals spectator tickets for all teams that took part in a LAN qualifier
  • Working closely with venue IT teams to improve network quality
  • Unlimited tea, coffee and soft drinks at all venues

Bookings will open shortly, individual entry priced at £12.50.
